RIDGE VENT:
Like other roof vents, ridge vents function to allow rising hot air to release from the attic. Cool air enters the attic from the soffit vents, constantly moving fresh air under the roof deck as the hot, stale air is allowed to escape from the top.This item
is recommended if you do not have another source of ventilation already.
FLASHING:
A roof boot (also called pipe boot) is a type of flashing that goes around the base of the pipes coming out of your roof and waterproofs them. This item is commonly replaced along with the roof.
DRIP EDGE:
Drip edges are metal sheets, usually shaped like an “L,” installed at the edge of the roof. Also called drip edge flashing or D-metal, they serve a vital function by directing water away from the fascia and into the gutter. This item comes standard with our roof system.
CRICKET:
A roof cricket, also called a saddle, is a triangular structure installed behind a chimney, skylight, or other roof protrusion to help divert water toward a drainage location. They are placed on the high side of a sloped roof face and split the run of the water around the obstacle instead of allowing it to pool at its base. This item
is needed if your existing chimney does
not have it.
ICE & WATER SHIELD:
Ice and water protector, sometimes also referred to as “peel and stick”, is a waterproof roof underlayment membrane developed to protect vulnerable areas on a roof from ice and water damage. This item
is applied on valleys and other areas with
large openings. It comes standard with
the roof system.
